چکیده

Individual molecules with intrinsic porosity, such as porous organic cages (POCs), have significant potential to improve the performance of a variety separations media. An exemplar application is blending POCs polymers make molecularly-mixed composite membranes (MMCMs). The intimate interaction between individual cage and polymer chains results in “solid-solution” that avoids longstanding interfacial issues associated mixed matrix membranes. Moreover, are soluble solutions, processing these composites can be easily adapted established polymer-based technologies concerns two-phase systems avoided. MMCMs still relatively new development, underlying transport processes within membrane not well understood. Here, we offer detailed interpretation guest through solid solutions. Gas transport across hyperthin membranes.

The use of organic polymeric membranes to separate gaseous mixtures provides an attractive alternative to other methods such as selective adsorption and cryogenic distillation. The primary advantages of membrane-based separations are their relative energy efficiency and lower costs. Because the flux of a gas across a membrane is inversely proportional to the membrane's thickness, this method re...

Analysis of Time-Varying, Stochastic Gas Transport through Graphene Membranes.

Molecular transport measurements through isolated nanopores can greatly inform our understanding of how such systems can select for molecular size and shape. In this work, we present a detailed analysis of experimental gas permeation data through single layer graphene membranes under batch depletion conditions parametric in starting pressure for He, H2, Ne, and CO2 between 100 and 670 kPa. We s...

Effect of Ethylene Oxide Functional Groups in PEBA-CNT Membranes on CO2/CH4 Mixed Gas Separation

Poly (ether-block-amide) /poly (ethylene glycol)/ carbon nanotubes mixed matrix membranes have been successfully fabricated using solvent evaporation method to determine the effect of ethylene oxide groups on the performance of produced membranes. The effects of CNTs (2-8 wt%) and PEG (up to 50 wt%)were investigated in both single and mixed gas test setup in different temperature and pressure. ...

Synthesis and Gas Transport Properties of Hyperbranched Polyimide–Silica Hybrid/Composite Membranes

Hyperbranched polyimide–silica hybrids (HBPI–silica HBDs) and hyperbranched polyimide–silica composites (HBPI–silica CPTs) were prepared, and their general and gas transport properties were investigated to clarify the effect of silica sources and preparation methods. HBPI–silica HBDs and HBPI–silica CPTs were synthesized by two-step polymerization of A2 + B3 monomer system via polyamic acid as ...
